Snowflake Challenge 10 & 11

Behind once again, so a two for one today :)

Challenge 10 was to talk about a creator who inspires. The writers under the cut have written some of my favorite shows/episodes/novels. Nothing like a behind the scenes story about one of your favorite episodes or a call for folks to join in a writing sprint (jane) to help me focus on my own creative projects.

I've already listed a few fannish creators that I follow in twitter, so here are a few writers to follow.

[twitter.com profile] BaronDestructo - Joseph Mallozzi - Stargate, Dark Matter writer
[twitter.com profile] bradtravelers - Stargate, Travelers showrunner
[twitter.com profile] JaneEspensen - Buffy, Once Upon a Time
[twitter.com profile] neilhimself - Neil Gaiman

Challenge 11 is to recommend creative and fannish resources. Below the cut: 2 creative and one fannish.

Starting with the creative. For longer stories or NaNoWriMo projects I like to collect photos to help me visualize settings or perhaps even a character. I then add them to my Scrivener project. If I'm feeling ambitious or word blocked - I may even use them in a mood board - which also goes into the Scrivener project.

Unsplash - This site has replaced Flickr as my go-to site for photos. I love how easy they make it to credit /thank the photographer. Worth a look if you haven't checked it out.
Pinterest - I still sometimes use for fannish stuff - but I think many creators have moved to Instagram or other sites. Too many ads and notifications lately. I don't like "noisy" apps.

Fannish:
Richard Dean Anderson's Official site - So many pictures from his pre-famous days to the present. Once a month (sometimes more) the admin will post notes/pics from RDA. The site also has a schedule of his upcoming convention/fan appearances. The Stargate Lexicon is housed here- a must-see for Stargate fanfic writers.

I hadn't heard of Unsplash before. That looks like a great site.

Not sure why I wasn't following Gaiman before, thanks for reminding me to follow! I think I assumed I did because people I follow like his tweets which them pop up on my timeline.
