Day 10
In your own space, share your love for a trope, cliché, kink, motif, or theme. (Or a few!) Tell us what makes it work for you, and why it appeals to you so much. Talk about what you like to see in fanworks featuring that theme most. Feel free to include recs and examples! Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
I've always loved the May-December romance trope. Maybe it is because my OTPs (Samantha Carter/Jack O'Neill, Beverly Crusher/Jean-Luc Picard) fit into this category. Or maybe it is because the writers/actors/creators have to work just that little bit harder to make it believable. *shrug* On the flip-side, when it is done poorly, it flops spectacularly.
Day 11
Share a book/song/movie/tv show/fanwork/etc that changed your life. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
Hmmm. I'm going to go with Star Trek: TOS - well reruns of them at any rate. I loved to watch Star Trek reruns growing up. In fact, I was a bit obsessive about it. Then I discovered there were Star Trek novels when I was twelve or thirteen. From there I branched into other science fiction and fantasy novels. I don't read as many Star Trek novels as I used too (they publish way too many for me to keep up) but fantasy/scifi is still one of my favorite genres. So thank you Star Trek for expanding my horizons.
