What I love about both of these couples:
* The amazing on-screen chemistry between the actors.
* Both characters are strong on their own, but much stronger together
* They don't need to fight/argue to create a spark, but they also aren't afraid to hold their ground when they disagree.
* They have more in common than just physical attraction.
* Their relationship evolved over time.

Beverly Crusher/Jean-Luc Picard

I'm a little scared about the upcoming Picard show because I haven't seen any mention of Beverly.

That would be terrible disappointing--and rather useless--to not have Beverly (and her husband) be major players in the story of Picard. I mean, what's the point without it? Maybe in a second season?

I'm a little worried about the Picard show too, because it just doesn't feel right to have him without her. However, I'm wondering if they are saving it for the second season, like they don't want the new show to be overwhelmed exclusively with characters from TNG, so we are getting cameos from Riker, Troi and Data(?) this season, so maybe Crusher next season.

Good point. And they have already renewed for season 2. Also, there's a dog, so if nothing else we can "aw" at the cuteness :D

Oh gosh, I loved Beverly/Picard so much, especially after that episode where they were bound together on that planet where the species spoke only in metaphor and were reading each other's minds. And yet canon seemed so determined to have it Not Exist that it really bothered me.

Back then I wasn't aware of fandom either- do you have any good fic recs? :DDD

Unfortunately, all the TNG fic writers I know have long since abandoned LJ and they wrote before A03 (or at least before I knew of it). I gave up on fanfiction.net years ago, but there used to be quite a bit over there. I think most of the Trek stuff I've seen in exchanges/big bangs are centered around the rebooted movies.
