Dear Chocolatier Letter

Dear Chocolatier:

Thank you for considering my request for the Chocolate Box Exchange. I’m sure I will love anything you create, but in the interest of making things a little easier I have listed my general likes and DNW (do not wants) as well as a few prompt ideas. Please feel free to ignore the prompts.

Ratings: Open to All

DNWs: MPREG, A/B/O, animals injured or killed, scat, blood-play, adultery/cheating, character bashing, crack, second person POV

General Likes: I run the gamut from general to romance to humor to … Pretty much anything that is not a DNW. General, friendship, or team centered stories are always welcome. I prefer happy endings, but I am okay with darker themes.

GYWO pledges for 2021 are available

For friends that are on dreamwidth or use openid - [community profile] getyourwordsout is accepting signups/pledges for next year. With no idea of how much travel I will be doing in 2021 (new job said it could be up to 60%), I decided to go for a habit pledge this time around. Nice people and really nice spreadsheets to help track your progress each month.

Pardon the bingo Cards Pt 1

I'll be posting a few more bingo cards over the next month in preparation for 2021. I am going to try again in 2021 for 150K words. I didn't even make it halfway in 2020, but if I don't set a word count goal then I won't push myself.

Anyway, a set of prompts from [community profile] genprompt_bingo

Happy Thanksgiving

In this topsy-turvy year, I'd like to take a moment to thank all of my online friends for every little way that you have been there for me. This year more than ever has proven that friendship is not bound by physical distance.

For all celebrating or maybe enduring Thanksgiving today, I wish you a safe and happy holiday.

One of my favorite bingos

I signed up for another card - maybe this will be the kick in the pants I need before NaNo. At the worse, it is another card to feel guilty over not completing.

3 boxes = 3 trips but stuff is on the way

We made our final cuts and worked it down to 3 boxes. One was DVD/books so it was pretty cheap- yay for media mail. The other 2 were more than I expected, but still a lot less than I feared. I couldn't have guessed any better on the box size. Even a 1/2 inch more in height and they would have been too big for the Miata trunk. We're going to pack tonight so we'll only have the cleaning left after the trash haulers.

And I have I ever mentioned how stupidly laid out the city streets are in Seattle? Seems like I drove 3 miles to go 1 mile. Typical, LOL.

Two more nights here (1 in the apartment, 1 in a hotel) then onto Portland. Send good weather vibes please.

trunk way smaller than I expected

So it turns out my Miata trunk is way smaller than expected. Looks like I'll be making multiple runs to the post office this week before leaving. Going to see if UPS will deliver to general delivery. Maybe I can have it picked up ...

Snowflake Challenge #15

Snowflake Challenge promotional banner with image of white ice crystals/snowflakes on a dark green background. Text: Snowflake Challenge January 1-31

The final Snowflake Challenge is to create my own challenge. I haven't listened to music as much as I used too, and I'm sure that has negatively affected my mental/emotional/physical well-being. Music has always been a touchstone for me, and I need to make more time for it - no matter what my schedule. So my challenge: To make a soundtrack(s) of my year. Maybe it will be a set of playlists or one giant one -- no idea yet. It is unfortunate that 8tracks shut down this month, as they were my preferred way of sharing playlists. Maybe I'll check-in with periodic tracklists to keep me going. Playlists FTW!!!

Snowflake Challenge #14

Gosh, today's challenge is about favorite tropes or kinks. I'm not sure I could pick just one, or even a handful. Probably why [community profile] trope_bingo is one of my favorite bingo challenges. For me, challenge prompts and tropes are perfect for short to medium length stories. I've used them as starting points, particularly when writing for a rare pair or fandom, and also as a means to add a bit of structure to a ficlet/idea that I want to develop into something a bit longer. Twisting/playing with tropes is also quite fun.

A few favorites of mine: AU's, crossovers, May-December romance, hurt/comfort, fix-its

Snowflake Challenge #13

Today's challenge was to create a fanwork in your own space. Although I have a few fanfics in various draft/revision/ideas-in-my-head stages, none of them would have been ready for today. So I decided to turn to another medium - one that I used to do quite a lot of ... Icons.

Ever since I purchased my first Macbook with Retina display, I have lost my passion for the 100x100 px medium. I know I can change my resolution to a standard laptop while I work in PS but somehow it just doesn't feel right for me. I thought I'd try a few more icons today to see if I could get my mojo back--sadly the answer is no.

Putting these behind the cut as they are for the new Star Trek: Picard show. I don't think they are spoilery, but better safe than sorry.

Snowflake Challenge 10 & 11

Behind once again, so a two for one today :)

Challenge 10 was to talk about a creator who inspires. The writers under the cut have written some of my favorite shows/episodes/novels. Nothing like a behind the scenes story about one of your favorite episodes or a call for folks to join in a writing sprint (jane) to help me focus on my own creative projects.

creator(s) who inspire )

Challenge 11 is to recommend creative and fannish resources. Below the cut: 2 creative and one fannish.
